Right now 10% of our proceeds are going towards helping an Ethiopian village build their own well! The well will go to the village with the greatest need at the time the funds are appropriated. We are able to do this with the help of A Glimmer of Hope.

On average, rural women and children walk 4 miles and carry 40 pounds of contaminated water to their family each day.

The need for clean water in Ethiopia:

More than 250,0000 children under the age of 5 die each year from diarrhea.

1 out of 2 Ethiopians suffer from preventable , water-related disease on any given day.

3.7 billion work hours are lost every year due to long-distance water gathering.

How Glimmer is providing access to clean water and sanitation:

When Glimmer constructs a water well in a community, girls and women no longer must walk several hours a day to collect filthy, contaminated water for their families.
With this saved time, they can attend school and devote time to earning a livelihood.

A Glimmer of Hope has implemented more than 4,397 water and sanitation projects .
